Anxiety is a feeling that can make you feel tense by causing you to have uneasy thoughts. It is irrefutable that anxiety has become a common issue in this contemporary era. 

The sense of tingling, buzzing, or vibration throughout your body, particularly in your feet, hands, fingers, or legs, is known as anxiety numbness. 

You must be aware that there is a connection between generalized anxiety disorder and any instances of tingling or numbness in your body.

When we talk about the symptoms and signs of anxiety, we typically refer to the mental state in which a person may feel fear, worry, concern, uneasiness, or panic. It’s important for you to understand that anxiety is an illness that affects more than just mental health. 

It may also endanger your physical health since it causes your nervous system to go into fight-or-flight mode. Anxiety-related physical numbness or tingling is one such reaction.

This typical anxiety symptom can affect any part of the body or even the entire body. For example, only a portion of the tongue, such as the tip, may feel numb. 

Alternatively, one or both lips may be affected, or only a portion of one. This numb and tingling sensation can happen frequently, or even constantly every day.

  • Alcohol consumption

Medicines for anxiety could cause buzzing as a side effect

Several medications, major psychiatric drugs included, can cause buzzing in the limbs as a side effect (anti-anxiety, anti-depressants, mood stabilizers, etc.). Any of these symptoms should be brought up to your doctor so they can change your medication to help you stop experiencing those symptoms.

Stress could be a strong reason for anxiety

Stress is the mental or physical strain one has when confronted with challenging and upsetting thoughts or circumstances that seem upsetting. The battle, run, or freeze reaction to stressors is triggered because stress alerts the body to potential threats. Both good and harmful stress is possible.

Trembling, shaking, and vibrations in the body are a few symptoms of ongoing stress. Even your heart can start to race. In such a case, attempt to relax and take deep breaths to control your symptoms.

Side effects of stress hormones

Because of your nervous behaviour, which sets off the stress reaction that can result in numbness and stiff muscles, your neurological system suffers. Experts believe that hormones and nerves directly affect muscles and that if one or both of these systems aren’t working properly, it could cause mild to moderate physical symptoms.

Specialists are still researching the buzzing sensation brought on by worry. It is believed to have something to do with how your body’s hormones respond to ongoing, high levels of stress.
